The Shell Bots are an FIRST Tech Challenge team based in Waverly Iowa.
What is FTC?
FTC is a robotics competition where every year, a new challenge is granted to test the skills of each team's engineering skills. This year (2024-2025 season) the game is called Into the Deep.

In Into the Deep, teams are given the opportunity to design a robot where, combined with another team's robot, can do multiple objectives. These objectives include moving 3-D printed blocks called samples into a bucket or attaching a clip to them and hanging them on a bar. You can also hang your robot on a bar.
Last year, the Shell Bots lead their team all the way the Iowa State FTC Centerstage Event where we were the 2nd pick on the winning alliance.

The Shell Bots also demonstrate a key factor of FIRST robotics, Gracious Professionalism (GP). Gracious Professionalism is a core aspect of our robotics team. While being around the teams around us, our teammates, and our community, we strive to demonstrate Gracious Professionalism everywhere.
What does Gracious Professionalism mean?
While it means different things to each person, we believe that Professor Woodie Flowers described it best.
“Gracious Professionalism® (GP) is a way of doing things that encourages high-quality work, emphasizes the value of others, and respects individuals and the community.”
